Pastor Ter was led to Christ by a deacon after an evening service at Singapore Bible Baptist Church (SBBC) on the 21st of August 1977 and was baptized and added to the Church on the 6th of November that same year. Eight months later, he was accepted by SBBC as a voluntary staff. His role involved interpreting and teaching in the newly founded ministry to the hearing impaired. There he was introduced to Sister Jessie who was the pioneer of that new ministry. Not long after that both of them were blissfully wedded and in time, became parents to a tribe of eleven children. In May 1987, Pastor Ter was commissioned as a missionary by Shalom Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Wee. He was then sent out to start his first mission work in Penang Island, Malaysia, where it continues to this day. Newsletter
The Shalom Baptist Mission Church (Penang) was started in July 1987 by Pastor Ter in a rented double-storey house in Batu Uban. The church moved to a purchased office lot of 700 sq. ft. nearby, in 1996. It has been fully paid for.
Presently, we have around 10 members, local and outstation, and support about 30 missionaries and
workers in the Asian region on a monthly budget of RM3200.
We emphasise the importance of a regenerate and active membership, witnessing for the Lord.
